Brother Gabriel's Personal Story

Due to security needs Brother Gabriels' last name will not be used in any correspondences

Gabriel was born to Cuban immigrant parents Aug.17,1964, in Mt.Sinai hospital in Hartford, CT.. From the very beginning Gabriel exhibited himself different from the other children his age. State funded psychiatrist diagnosed that Gabriel was troubled by Hyperactive metabolism and an attention span disorder. His teachers were advised that a smaller class setting would be suitable and separation from the mainstream school population would allow Gabriel to learn while staying out of trouble.

What all the doctors, social workers, teachers, and the nameless faces at the long and tiring teacher-parent midday school meetings didn't understand was that there was a devil loose ! Exposed early to the harmful influence of santeria (African-Cuban Voodoo), Gabriel at a young age was being tormented by unseen dark forces. False blessings, bodily healing and various good luck charms to ward off evil spirits were ignorantly accepted by Gabriel. Throughout the years Gabriel grew frustrated and quietly quit high school in the latter part of the tenth grade.

Gabriel eventually moved to the inner-city to seek out his fame and fortune at the young tender age of sixteen. Motorcycles, gangs, and hard drugs seemed to spiral Gabriel's life into a backward frenzied spin toward a dark cultured underground lifestyle. Rejected by family, rejected socially, and eventually rejected by his biker piers the "Latin Riders" could not sober Gabriel back to a normal lifestyle. After three years of of pridefully displaying the gang colors he now walked the streets unashamed of having been thrown out by the very reason he was accepted. . . drugs.

It had seemed as life went backwards for this young Cuban/American who was too Cuban to be an American, and too American to be a Cuban. By this time he was loosing all of his prized personal possessions, one by one they were devoured by the never satisfying beast called Heroin & Cocaine. "I was told the only way of escape from this addicted life style was 1) Shot to death while stealing, 2) going to jail for life, 3) and If I was lucky enough to overdose while shooting-up" Gabriel would later say.

About that time God had put Gabriel's eternal destination on the heart of a young and emerging Baptist pastor named Tony Riviera. Pastor Riviera had witnessed to Gabriel time after time only to be rebuffed.

Today was a special day for pastor Riviera because Gabriel had hit rock bottom and was currently a prime candidate to accept Christ as king of his life. You see, Gabriel was sitting in a dark and crowded jail cell waiting for the judge to seal his future, but God had other plans for Gabriel unbeknown to him.

A miracle took place in that jail house the next day. Deep within the hardened chambers of his heart Gabriel believed and with his mouth he confessed that he was a sinner in need of a Savior. A great celebration took place in heaven that day (as does with every sinner who accepts Christ) when Gabriel took that step of faith down that short and narrow path of restoration. "No one ever told me before that Jesus could break the chains of heroin and cocaine" Gabriel would later say "I'm just glad that I listened and took that blind leap of faith".

By 1996 Brother had been through Youth Challenge and afterwards traveled the country side helping a Pentecostal preacher named Roy Phillips.

Together they traveled the country preaching the gospel under a tent in the inner cities. Later He would move on to pastor a youth group in Primera Iglesia Bautista de Hartford before moving on to college. Before graduating his third year at World Harvest Bible College, under the leadership of pastor Rod Parsley in Columbus, Ohio, Gabriel was operating in a full blown international ministry.

After visiting such nations as Canada, Cuba, and Bahamas Gabriel would focus his energy toward the communist country of Cuba. Bibles, medicine, food, and other important relief supplies mixed with the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ seemed the easiest way to win
souls for the kingdom of God. This was done through the Christian International Relief Organization which was founded 1995 by Gabriel. The Visionary magazine first publication rolled off the presses on the heels of his earlier missionary trip. Today The Visionary is a
registered trade name publication and has blessed over 1,000 souls with the testimonies of God's power during it's last printing.

Gabriel continues to blaze a trail of revival through the world permeating the lives of the lost with the gift of hope and the challenge of living a holy life. Today Gabriel is currently preparing to travel the global world with God's life changing redeeming message

We are a home for 12 beautiful handicapped children. Though the world calls them handicapped, we have found this often to be more of a tool our God has given them. These children have been able to touch hearts and administer to people in ways we never could have. Even when the LORD calls one home, they've been able to heal the hurting & speak to the unsaved in miraculous ways with the true love of our Lord Yeshua.

We are supported by the sales of GREAT CHRISTIAN SOFTWARE available at prices a missionary could afford. Please stop by.
